How we make it?

We collect the barley

Our journey begins with collecting the golden barley malt waste from our local brewery friends, once they’re done brewing their delightful concoctions.

Dehydration and milling

To prevent mold from forming, the barley is dehydrated and milled into fine powder. One step closer to being ready for transformation!

Creating the materials

The fine powder is thoroughly processed in over 10 steps, one of these being the infusion of recycled cotton and polyester, which are UV and heat-resistant.

We collect the barley

Our journey begins with collecting the golden barley malt waste from our local brewery friends, once they’re done brewing their delightful concoctions.

Dehydration and milling

To prevent mold from forming, the barley is dehydrated and milled into fine powder. One step closer to being ready for transformation!

Customisation

Our material can have custom finishes, patterns, and colors. The color of the material is naturally dark, so no additional colorants are required! We have also developed a way to lighten the material so that a variety of colors can be applied.

And finally the most obvious characteristic of every material. All colors can be applied to all thicknesses, backings and grains.

Impact & sustainability

We recycle 98% of water used in our material production and means our material comes with approximately 50% less of a negative impact on the environment than fossil fuel based leather.
